Mariana Fantich (Ukraine) and Dominic Young (UK) are two East London-based artists who began collaborating in 2008. They have since been known as Fantich & Young. Their work entails a conceptual approach to the manipulation and juxtaposition of symbolic ready-made materials, addressing parallels between social evolution and evolution in the natural world. Fantich & Young create art that subverts Darwin's theory of evolution and natural selection with elements of supernatural ceremonial ritual. The duo’s work has attracted considerable attention online, and has been exhibited in The Grassi Museum, The Villa Rot Museum, Museum Hundertwasser, Victoria & Albert Museum, The Mall Galleries, and Somerset House.
