The theme of the furniture is "waft"// They are made of plywood which is a hybrid between aluminum and beech wood. By compressing layers of the two, the result is thin yet flexible, each material compensating for the weaknesses of the other. The additional firmness is added by applying three-dimensional distortions, making it strong enough to support the weight. With a minimum amount of material used and with minimum processing, these airy products give an impressive lightness reminiscent of a leaf dancing in the air.

Bender by Paul Evermann (GERMANY)
''DIY furniture // The Idea was to design a stool that provides the opportunity of involving the customer into the designing process. The simple steel plate allows to join different kinds and forms of used chair legs or just branches to generate individualized stools. By using cable ties the legs get joined to the seating plate. To prevent the legs from buckling under heavy weight, the construction is stabilized by four pre-stressed zip ties. The cable ties allow a quick assembly of the stool without tools. Due to the form of the seating plate Bender is stackable.''
