Before I take you on this exclusive presentation of the new Domino 86' yacht by Riva, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the family which made all this possible and that is no other than Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin.
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin (VCP) courtly invited Yatzer to attend the presentation of new 86'DOMINO yacht by RIVA in the much loved St. Tropez . The itinerary consisted of cocktail parties, sailing on exclusive yachts, partying and attending High Tea on the seas. However, I will not talk about this today, but will keep you in suspense for just a very few days where you will have the full "Yatzer in St.Tropez" report.
On the evening of September 5, 2009 Riva Yachts held the opening of the 2009 – 2010 nautical year in the stunning setting of Côte d’Azur, the world destination for international jet setting. The event on the terrace of Mole Jean Reveillé opened with a spectacular presentation of the Riva shipyards new model 2009 - 2010 – the 86’ Domino. The clean lines of this dynamic 26 meter yacht immediately drew everyone’s eyes on her leaving us all speechless about her winning design! Her well-balanced beauty through her design is revealed in her unique personality, through which the assertiveness and the grandeur which characterizes all Riva opens comes forward. The high-impact effect of the Domino 86’ is mainly due to its enhanced new Metallic Ice color which covers the hull and the deckhouse.
Following the opening event, the enchanting setting of the terrace on Mole Jean Reveillé in St. Tropez, the setting for legendary events in the lives of famous personalities on board of a Riva, was the stage for the gala event devoted to Riva owners. The dinner gala event was just remarkable, with many wonderful people, and was always accompanied by an abundance of the finest Veuve Clicquot champagne.

THE NEW 86'DOMINO by RIVA
/////// a few words about THE DOMINO 86’ by RIVA YACHT ///////
According to specialists in the field of nautical design, the new Riva 86’ Domino is an evolution of the 63’ Vertigo and 68' Ego Super models. It is ideal even for the most demanding owner who loves contemporary lines with a sporty accent while in any case it hasn’t affected at the very least the yacht’s simple style. The yacht has been designed with a simple goal in mind to create more spaces so that the owners and their lovely guests as well as the crew can enjoy various areas for socializing; making it an ideal yacht for long cruises as well as daily life on board. A large sundeck at bow (the front, or forward end of a boat) features a dinning area for six guests, while the cockpit features another table with the respective number for guests, and a comfortable sofa. Offering extra privacy for the owners and the guests, the sundeck is integrated into the upper part of the deckhouse, so that it cannot be apparent from outside view.
The Domino 86’ features a second steering position, ideal for mooring maneuvers, and a sun pad with a reclining back which can accommodate three guests. The upper air-conditioned gallery creates an open space area with the dinning area, and is partitioned visually from the helm station by a large LCD television. This visual partition with the LCD television allows an abundance of natural light to pass through the large side windows and the windshield thus providing a fully lit area. The interior design of the furniture pieces creates a warm welcoming environment while keeping an elegant an attractive design and creating a spacious environment for the owner and the guests.
The design of the large window in connection with the full beam master cabin located amidships follows the surfaces of the hull, integrating into it perfectly and ensuring as much light as possible in this environment as well. Equipped with an en-suite head and walk-in wardrobe, the master cabin also has a private living-room area and vanity. The VIP cabin, with en-suite head, is located at bow, whilst two twin-bedded guest cabins with en-suite heads, are located between this and the master cabin. The portside guest cabin also features a system of sliding beds on tracks that allows transforming it into a second, double-bedded cabin.

Riva Yachts // The pride of a tradition that has lasted over 160 years
In 1842, Pietro Riva traveled from Laglio, on the banks of Lake Como, Italy to Sarnico, on Lake Iseo, to fix a series of storm damaged boats that everybody else had given up on. A daunting feat, but Pietro was up to the task. Soon, he was attracting attention as a miracle worker. But with his talents, he didn't want to just put boats back together - he wanted to build boats that nobody had ever seen before. Build them he did and Riva's rich heritage was officially launched. In the 1880's Ernesto Riva, one of Pietro's sons, took over the Riva yard. While maintaining the tradition of impeccable quality and craftsmanship, he added another dimension to the Riva product: innovation // by fitting piston engines to his boats. It was Serafino Riva's turn at the helm next, as he launched Riva into the embryonic power racing boating scene. On the deck of his beloved racing boat, he was able, in 1912, to achieve a speed of 24 km per hour.
Serafino's competitive ambitions drove Riva to a series of successes in national and international motor boating competitions between the first and second world wars. Not content to remain solely in this role, Riva increased its line to include boats built for pleasure as well. It was to be still, another turning point. By the 1950s, the Riva name, under the leadership of Carlo Riva, became a worldwide symbol of quality, elegance, speed and status.
With Riva's uncompromising quality and superior materials, this renowned name became the only choice of kings and queens, emperors, princess and sultans, actors and sportsmen, matinee idols, the international jet set and business tycoons worldwide. Today, celebrities, well-known businessmen, entrepreneurs, fashion stylists and the jet set are still unable to resist the magnetism of a Riva. If you can afford the best, why not experience the best.
