Situated a few kilometres away from Madrid's city centre, in the newly developed business district of 'Las Tablas', a multifunctional space offers great dining experiences, cooking lessons and exclusive events to its clients. When catering company 'El Gusto Es Nuestro' first acquired the property, it commissioned the architects of Plantea Estudio, to transform it into a place where the needs of a busy catering business could be combined with those of a cosy event space and an existing cooking school under the same roof. The result is a luminous space that combines both the functionality of a business space with the relaxing, friendly environment of a casual restaurant.

On the outside, the original brick façade of the building has been kept intact and is painted in a dark shade, contrasting the otherwise bright colours of the rest of the structure. Meanwhile, the glass factory windows that occupy the largest part of the wall, allow passersby to take a peek at the range of activities going on in the space. These generous openings also allow for natural light to come flooding inside, where painted brick walls alternate with the exposed concrete of the original structure and sliding glass doors, enhancing the interior's industrial atmosphere.

At the heart of the whole space lies the central kitchen workspace, with its elegant, yet functional design, made of concrete and marble. Nordic-style, wooden lounge chairs are combined with oak and zinc tables to set up a warm and welcoming dining room, which is lit up by bamboo lampshades and decorated with pots of aromatic herbs and plants.
