Spanish artist-designer and Yatzer's favorite one, Jaime Hayon has completed the interior for Octium Jewelry – an upscale jewelry concept store that showcases exclusive designer pieces from around the globe. The shop opened its doors in October 2009, and is located in 360º mall in Kuwait.
Yatzer is proud to present Hayon’s handmade sketches, which is an amazing opportunity to explore the designer’s creative process before the final concept is revealed!
As we can typically expect from Hayon, his interior design work for Octium is innovative and original to the core. Immediately upon approaching the giant golden doors with beautiful knobbed handles – you can’t help but feel you’re entering an exclusive ‘members-only’ space. After all, it’s for that very ‘feeling’ we get that has given Hayon the reputation for being one of the worlds most creative designers. Each interior he creates is like exploring a totally different little world – almost as if we get a glimpse into the mad genius that is constantly running through Mr. Hayon’s mind.
Known for his love of beautiful, earthy materials, elements of Octium were custom designed using contrasting finishes like glossy lacquered woods, natural oak, ceramic, and luxurious fabrics. His exquisite eye for detail is unmatched, and what an appropriate project Octium was, as each jewelry item is unique and requiring of absolute perfect and specific lighting as well as display.
Flawlessly executing Hayon's “specialty” of fusing finely-crafted intricate objects with contemporary design – Octium’s interior not only compliments the beautiful jewelry but also transforms the visitors total experience, resulting in an immersion of utter sophistication.
