Mobile homes are probably one of the smartest ideas ever created! I mean what better than to be able to have your home, which is familiar to you, without having to sacrifice the comforts of a real home! A true, homely environment with structural aspects designed not for tourists but for residents, even if that means that your stay is temporary. Best of all these micro-houses offer functional solutions without sacrificing on design!

Hangar Design Group designed two such houses; Suite Home and JoshuaTree. These mobile homes can be placed by the sea, the mountains or a tourist destination. Not to say that they can be used as an attic house in the city center, these types of extensions are usually very elegant architectural installations.

Suite Home is the ultimate metropolitan chic; the cube-like house has three large panoramic windows, and a sole spacious double bedroom which combines the Japanese minimalism with the New York contemporary chic. Furthermore, the house includes a bathroom with Bisazza tiling and HansGrohe taps and fittings, and an open space living room with a kitchenette. The clean lines, the simple materials and the layout illustrate the interior minimalistic design.

Extremely essential modern-style furnishings and finishes contribute to the linkage of the spaces within the house. The gray oak veneered furnishings and the laminate graphite flooring contrasts with the laminated walls, where this black and white interior has truly managed to portray the above-described, desired interior styles. The interior and the exterior of Suite Home provides for an enjoyable peaceful feeling, a combination where elegance meets warmth and comfort in only 34 square meters.

On the other hand, Joshua Tree reminds us mostly of a modern day cottage retreat. Within the 34 square meter mobile home the spaces it includes consist of: one bedroom with one double bed, one bedroom with two single beds, two bathrooms – one shower, and a kitchen/living area. The ceiling and walls have been covered in white lime finished oak which gives an even more mountain refuge style.

Joshua Tree has been conceived for a vacation at a high altitude, not that it cant be used at low altitudes. The house has been designed in such a way that it reminds us of an Alpine refuge, with its sloping roof and panoramic views of peaks, bringing to mind the mountain “baita.”
