Around this time of year and every year, we showcase the most popular articles from the past twelve months, based on how many ‘Likes’ each story has received from our followers. Compiling this list is something like a ritual for us; not only does it provide an avenue through which we can retrace our steps, look back and remember the year’s most important and memorable moments, it also allows us to stop and reflect for a while on what has happened and where we’re going to go next.

As you’ll see, photography-related stories made quite an impact, ranging from an unusual pilgrimage to the island of Santorini and a competition that gathered some astounding, top-notch iPhone photography through to retrospectives of some of the world’s photography legends and compelling new bodies of work from both emerging and established artists alike. The year also saw a lot of DREAMING: from awe-inspiring concepts of sculptural skyscrapers to delicate miniature Gothic interiors carved in marble, this year, we endevoured, as always, to venture into how the craziest dreams and visionary aspirations can sometimes become a reality through art, imagination and the everlasting search for beauty. Last but not least, our curated reviews of important global design events (which also feature on our list) such as Milan Design Week just go to show how there is always room for the new, the daring and the unusual!

For the eighth year of its adventurous ‘life’, Yatzer proves once again that it is a ticket to spectacular journeys that are both near and far for thousands of people across the globe - a feat that would not have been possible without your support and enthusiasm. Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for joining us on our journeys. Naturally, an equal amount of respect and gratitude also go out to our collaborators and friends - that is, all the designers, photographers, architects, painters, video makers, writers and other creatives who continue to share their work, inspiration, talent and wisdom with us.

With 2015 upon us, there is much to be anticipated for the new year ahead. Most importantly, as you may have already heard, we are redesigning Yatzer as I felt that the time had finally come to refresh the look of the site and to create some new tools and features that are sure to sweep you off your feet! So with the new website expected to go online in the second quarter of 2015, watch this space for more news soon!

On behalf of the entire Yatzer team, I wish you a Happy, Creative and Joyful New Year, full of health, good fortune and above all, a lot of LOVE.

With my warmest regards,
Costas Voyatzis
