Artist, Sean Yoro, a.k.a. HULA, was born on the island of O'ahu, Hawaii in 1981. A surfer from a young age, Sean turned to art as an older teenager. When he decided to set out for New York City, he had $800 dollars in his pocket and two boxes of supplies but no plan as to what he was going to do once he got there. Thankfully, everything worked out as if planned and today, Sean's ethereal large scale murals, and art pieces depicting portraits of -- mainly -- women are being noticed worldwide. He has said that he is "inspired by raw emotions and seeks to capture different moments through the use of oil paint," and that he loves, "using women as subjects because aesthetically they bring a softer, more delicate feel to the underlining message of my works." He frequently travels around the world both to paint murals (both commissioned as well as illicit artworks on walls he doesn't seek permits to paint on!) and exhibit his work.
