Calliope Karvounis

Born in Athens, Calliope Karvounis left Greece at the age of 17 to pursue studies in London and Milan. She has been pursuing photography since she was 7, when she first learned to work her father's camera. Today, her work has been featured in a variety of international publications. In 2004, she published a book, "Traditional Greek Costumes," sponsored by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in Athens. Karvounis's work has been featured in two major shows in Greece: one at the Athens Byzantine Museum, the other at the Thessaloniki Byzantine Museum.
