Industrial Designer Sander Mulder has just added four new designssome stunning design in his collection. Some of them where on view at the "Truth of Basics" project by Onomatopee for Lift Off 08 during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven
CARAT : Diamond cutting requires art, skill and, increasingly, science to transform a rough stone into a faceted gem. This intricate modular lampshade design was conceived with the same ingredients and consists of 9 identical parts and an astounding 54 facets. The anodized aluminum finish on the outside of the shade makes it gleam like an emerald in the dark, while the reflective inside allows for optimal lighting. Carat is available as a pendant or a floor lamp and in multiple colours.

CROW : This trestle design provides stability for your tabletop while keeping far away from the traditional 4 leg structure. It uses the same basics as found in natures bird feet, made into wooden reality by traditional carpenters craftsmanship combined with cnc technology. The smoked glass table top enhances the spacious design, while the clear lacquer finish accents the beautifully detailed wooden joints.

U-TUBE : In these uncertain times we went back to basics, and inspired by the seemingly endless creative challenges of the hardware store, U-tube sprouted to life. Homage to global industrial archetypes, this tubular design is available in an oil-lamp or a candlestick version. The split arms allow for easy conversation while enjoying the soothing glow of this stunning centerpiece. Its use of heavyweight and oversized materials, sturdy powder coated finish and the lack of electrical parts, make this light everlasting! Well...if you replace your oil or candles once in a while that is.
