EL HOMBRE QUE SE CREA is a striking photographic portrait series of artist Julián Cánovas-Yañez that masterfully explores the magnificent sculptural qualities of the human body. Julián Cánovas-Yañez is a multidisciplinary and complete artist;  a film director, sculptor, painter, photographer and writer, or, as one might say, a modern-day Renaissance man. In his continuous quest to understand his body and spirit, he suggested the idea of a portrait of him to Maestre which would capture his capacity of creating and his endless fascination with spirituality and the corporeal form. Maestreexplains: ''With this photograph series I intend to show an artist fighting to get to know and shape himself and turn into a better human being''.

In a sequence of 20 captivating images that revive the themes of classical beauty and exquisite form, Julián Cánovas-Yañez sculpts and moulds himself to life, as he gradually morphs into a corporeal form in front of Maestre’s lens. Detached body parts comprise an extraordinary fragmented portrait of an artist in his existential quest, as we witness the piece by piece birth and rediscovery of his body and spirit.
