Named for the Adirondack Mountains in New York where it was invented, these outdoor chair is made from slatted wood with wide armrests ideal for resting drinks. A traditional Adirondack has a seat that slopes down in the back, presumably to make it more comfortable while sitting on hillsides. The original Adirondack chair was designed by Thomas Lee in 1903 while he was vacationing at his Summer home. Andrew Stanley & Jeff Gerlach, two design students at Syracuse University / NY ), are working with found objects and spontaneous design solutions. Today they sent us the Re-invention of Adirondack chair. According to their words, their chair is a modern and sustainable take on the classic Adirondack chair. All that is required is the rearranging of some nails.
