Rein Vollenga

Berlin-based Rein Vollenga was born in the Netherlands in 1979. Although he studied fine art in Holland, he’s now known for his anthropomorphic wearable sculptures. Created out of useful daily objects, his pieces are transformed through Vollenga's signature design process into Haute Couture items that are greatly esteemed in both the art, as well as the fashion world. His work has appeared on the runways of Mugler and KTZ, among others, as well as in fashion magazines such as VOGUE Italia, i-D and Interview and has been shown in galleries worldwide, such as Le Louvre in Paris and Museum’s Quartier in Vienna. He’s also created special commission pieces for Lady Gaga’s Fame video and various other music and dance artists.
