Originally from California, Kristen Schmid is a documentary fine art photographer now based out of Springfield, Illinois. Her focuses include portraying family life, gender and childhood. Schmid's work has been featured at CENTER, a gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Klompching Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. Previously she was a staff photographer at Springfield's The State Journal-Register.
