The common ground that characterizes both sections of the apartment is the fluid decor and color scheme that seamlessly flows through the rooms. Every item in the apartment has been skillfully designed and made utilizing the skills of over twenty Italian artisanal companies, many of whom are local to the region and all of which are looked upon as experts in their respective fields, such as the beautiful textiles from Rubelli and Murano glasses from Salviati, both Venice-based and world renowned.
The apartment's pale décor foundation of white walls and either pale gray painted or herringbone wood flooring is accented by furniture in tones of blue, pale pink, yellow and green. Meanwhile, shots of bolder colors make bright statements throughout, such as the cranberry colored recliner in the living area, the bright yellow flower pot in the dining room and the turquoise blue counter base in the kitchen.
The décor is also delicately accented by the apartment's title inspiration, flora, with touches of greenery spread throughout that makes it seem almost as if the downstairs outdoor garden - with its white, wrought iron tables and chairs and romantic, carved marble fountain - has somehow managed to spill indoors. From the potted plants in the reception area, the living room and in the kitchen to the flower vases beside the beds and the "gardens" growing in the lavatories of the private rooms, the entire apartment "breathes" with an air of fresh inventiveness that allows even the most jaded traveler a moment to connect with nature.
It's not difficult to imagine that guests will have a hard time packing their bags when the time comes for them to depart from the enveloping confines of Casa Flora. But on another note of welcome ingenuity, the owners have made everything a guest uses during their stay available for purchase, worldwide. Call it Casa Flora… to go.
