With the support of the German-Greek Chamber of Industry and Commerce and within the scope of the team effort ''Furniture From Greece,'' six major established Greek furniture companies will showcase (for the first time) their furniture designs at IMM Cologne – Living Interiors this year. The international furniture and decoration fair IMM Cologne is one of the most prestigious international furniture fairs as well as a central meeting place for exhibitors and decision-makers from all the world's important markets and will be held from Monday, January 16th – 22nd, 2012. Established and well-reputed furniture companies such as Candia Strom, Corpus, De-Code, Elite Strom, Lattas and Morphos are facing the challenge of the economic crisis with a defiant ''YES'' and joining their forces under the communication brand ''Furniture From Greece'' in an attempt to introduce Greek Furniture to European and worldwide markets.
History has proved that in periods of recession, important opportunities and ventures are fashioned; therefore Furniture From Greece, as a brand, constitutes the first team effort on behalf of the country, in order to prove that Greece is still a promising country which has many things to offer. Internationally awarded Greek industrial designers have been assigned, by the companies, to create products that are ''distinguished for their design, excellent materials and authenticity where they intend to combine tradition with an innovative element and in this way form the so-called Greek Furniture.'' Their aim is to create international standard products and through their work, consolidate their position not only in Europe, bur globally. Moreover, through this venture, the brands aim at becoming widely known so as to reach a point where they are universally recognized and distinguished.
