Okuda San Miguel

Madrid-based artist, Okuda San Miguel, was born in 1980 in Santander, Spain. It was on the streets of this small city where he first honed his creative talents, adorning the walls of abandoned factories and railroads before receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. His background reflects his emphasis on the conflict between modernity and classical roots. From large scale murals to tapestry and from sculpture to photography, each medium features a common – and very colorful – thread which unites them all. Okuda’s been described as being a “true urban artist” and his eye-catching, geometric work has been shown in galleries and in the streets worldwide (India, U.S.A. Japan, Peru, Ukraine, Europe, etc.) as well as having been featured by brands such as Puma, Adidas, Nissan, MTV and Playstation.
