Of Lebanese origin, Danielle Moudaber has criss-crossed the world over the years, drawing inspiration from different cultures on the way; as a result, she has developed an idiosyncratic style that brings together contrasting elements to create a sense of surprise and uniqueness.
After having meddled with more than one discipline, first in photography, where she earned a diploma from the Black and White School of Photography, then to object design and interior design and fashion and finally to cinema soundtracks, Moudaber's style has swigged from lots of sources and she has quenched her thirst from several fountains.
"Unclassifiable, atypical, deeply footloose and in some ways rebellious, Danielle Moudaber, has during her career whiffed/breathed, explored, moulded and dared. Having sailed through the different arts, fashion, decoration and design her style has become very enriched and is resolutely liberated. Freed from the ambient clichés from the contemporary world of decoration, she draws her inspiration from the marvellous to poetry, by digging up different expressions in order to outline her own repertoire of shapes, material, colours, bizarre signs which come about tirelessly during each project. It is this repertory that she then uses in her work, in the furnishings that she draws, in the spaces that she styles, in the objects that she imagines and implements." - Danielle Moudaber Studio
