Pablo Gil Martinez and Jaime Bartolome Yllera founded GilBartolome Architects in Madrid, Spain, in 2007 with the telling motto: “GilBartolome is committed to deliver the most creative and innovative architecture at a low price.”

In 2010, Pablo Gil Martinez received a PhD in Architecture Design from the Barlett School of Architecture in UCL, London, and since 2006 has been a Registered Architect with the Madrid Board of Architects. He is currently a professor at the Universidad Europea in Madrid. Meanwhile, Jaime Bartolome Yllera received his PhD from the Barlett School of Architecture in UCL, London in 2012 and has been a Registered Architect with the Madrid Board of Architects since 2005.

Before embarking on their own design firm, they both worked for Pritzker Prize Laureates, Zaha Hadid and Richard Rogers.  Since founding GilBartolome Architects, they have developed a varied portfolio of projects, such as Casa Del Acantilado in Grenada in 2015 and the auditorium, gallery hall and museum of the Haydar Alyev Center in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2012. They have received numerous awards for their innovative approach to design, such as the 2010 First Prize at the SmartFutureMindsAward for the zero energy-balance public square in Copenhagen, as well as in the European International Competition with a project regarding the abandoned coal mines belonging to the mining company HUNOSA in Asturias, Spain, among many others. Their work has also been exhibited in exhibitions worldwide, such as the Turning the Tables Exhibition at Great Western Studios Gallery in London in 2012 and the PhD Research Projects at The Barlett School of Architecture in 2011.
