The brainchild of Florian Weitzer - and sister hotel to our beloved Hotel Daniel in Vienna - the refurbished Hotel Daniel occupies an old train-station hotel building in the Austrian city of Graz. In addition to the 107 completely redesigned rooms that religiously follow its urban stay - smart luxury philosophy, the Hotel Daniel in Graz now boasts yet another must-see feature: a sci-fi looking LoftCube that has ‘landed’ on its roof, turning the otherwise 1950’s building’s empty rooftop into the highest hotel suite in town.

Designed by German designer Werner Aisslinger, the LoftCube is basically a prefabricated living pod that can be transported and installed pretty much anywhere, making it ideal for use as a pop-up holiday house in remote places, or for hotels that want to add a special suite in an unusual location — in our case, the roof! Measuring 44-square metres, the luxuriously fitted LoftCube for the Hotel Daniel in Graz is actually the first LoftCube to be permanently installed on a rooftop, and showcases an interior, reflecting Florian Weizel’s style and ideas, with features such as a custom-made square bed and a rainforest-themed shower filled with real plants. Part of the hotel’s roof has been covered with a wooden deck, and now functions as the LoftCube’s own terrace for its occupants to enjoy the sun and the striking 360-degrees view of the city and its landmarks.
