Led by Polish architects Diana Żurek and Bartosz Girek, Furora Studio has garnered a reputation for designing elegant living spaces that feel both modern and timeless through seamlessly fusing different styles and periods. Created for short-term rentals, this compact 31-square-meter studio apartment in Kraków is no exception, balancing warmth and elegance with a playful yet refined sensibility. Featuring classic and mid-century modern influences, the space reflects the studio's hallmark approach of eclectically combining different styles and periods through a lens of minimalist sophistication. The result is a cohesive, inviting atmosphere where bold design elements coexist with a sense of understated elegance.

The apartment's reimagined layout features distinct zones while maintaining a lounge-like feel, minimizing the visibility of the kitchen in the open-plan living area. A thoughtful blend of warm wood, luxurious stone veining, and metallic cabinetry adds character to the apartment’s compact yet expansive ambiance. The studio’s custom furniture pieces, characterized by geometric shapes and soft curves, tie together various elements harmoniously, imbuing the space with both modern and timeless charm.

Further enriching the design are delicate stucco details and carefully chosen lighting fixtures, which help set a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout the apartment. A standout feature of the design is the portal that artfully conceals the sleeping area behind soft drapery, adding a sense of mystery while expanding the visual space through the use of mirrors and patterned wallpaper.

With an eye for intricate detail and a flair for blending materials and textures, Żurek and Girek have once again showcased their ability to craft modern living spaces that are both playful and sophisticated.
