Young Vienna-based photographer Evelyn Bencicova (b. 1992) grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia, and used to work as a fashion model before turning to photography. She likes to work on the intersection between the commercial and the artistic, with her work focusing mostly on characters and the relationships between people. For her, a photograph is just a moment in a longer and multilayered creative process, and she likes to think of herself more as a creator of scenes or sculptural compositions than a photographer. Her work includes the very popular 'Ecce Homo' series, where she used groups of naked human bodies to create eerie yet poignant images. Bencicova is currently studying at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria.

"I take the pictures of people, but they are not real. Usually they just represent something, someone else. But still, my photos are not about them. It is not about that who is on the picture but what is on the picture, what is happening." - Evelyn Bencicova
