Alexander Chen (born 1981) is a Creative Director at Google Creative Lab. In 2011, Chen launched MTA.ME, which transformed a New York subway map into a string instrument. This led to the conception of the Les Paul Doodle, a Google doodle with generated 5.1 years worth of shared music around the world. Chen continued with a visualization of the Bach Cello Suites based on string physics. Chen also performs and records on viola and other instruments. He currently lives and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
