Described as ''the low-tech version of the Segway'' [via dezeen] and ''an alternative to jogging'' [via bikeradar], this strange-looking little tricycle consists of a laser-cut aluminium frame supporting the wheels, pedals and a plywood steering handle – the latter giving it a more unique, customised appearance. The rider simply stands on the pedals and can turn the Halfbike by tilting left or right as it moves. A single hand brake connecting to the rear wheels ensures safety and control, while the Halfbike’s smaller size and light construction means it can be carried on board a bus or train for longer trips.
Kolelinia has launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund the manufacturing of the first batch of Halfbikes which are expected to become available in September 2014.
